The 29 May Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan changed the rules by providing for easing of measures for violation of the rules of stay of foreign citizens in the Republic of Uzbekistan

Responsibility for temporary registration of foreign citizens and stateless persons, as well as those of the CIS nations, except for people from abroad on an independent journey, is assigned to the inviting (receiving) persons. Earlier, foreigners themselves had been responsible for registration and in case of breach of the law they had to pay a fine in the amount of fifty to one hundred times the minimum wage in Uzbekistan (8.6-17.2 million soums or 1,073-2,146 US dollars) (currency rates of CB RU from 01.06.2018, 1$= 7909.37 soums).

The Cabinet Simplifies Tourist Fee Collection

The Resolution of Uzbekistan’s Cabinet of Ministers on May 29 introduced amendments to the existing rules as to simplify and clarify the procedure for collecting tourist (hotel) fee from foreign citizens and persons without nationality who do not have a permanent residence in the territory of Uzbekistan.
